For Aysha, the lockdown period brought positives and challenges, including when her eldest son had teeth problems and their normal local dentist was closed.

“I did some research on the internet trying to find if there are any available options, like emergency services or hubs. Unfortunately, I could not find much information and the situation became worse and my son was in very much pain. In May I managed to talk over the phone with my dentist and she prescribed medicines.”

Beyond dental issues, Aysha kept herself informed about the sources of available help for healthcare, via the Camden Parents forum and handwashing guidance from her children’s schools. She found the lockdown period emotionally challenging too,

“It is difficult especially mentally as the world is different when you go outside and you want everything to be normal, but it is not normal.”
